
What is Placenta Encapsulation?
Placenta encapsulation or Placentophagy is the process of preparing a birthing persons placenta by: dehydrating and grinding it into a power like consistency. That placenta powder will then be placed in capsules (Vegan) for you to use as you see fit.
There are a couple of benefits that people have reported from consuming their placenta. Some of those are:
increase in milk production
helps with balancing postpartum hormones
helps with energy levels
helps replenish iron levels
helps create a consistent flow of oxytocin (love hormone- essential for bonding with baby)
The Process
After your birth, I will take your placenta with me. It is your responsibility to discuss the release of your placenta from your birthing facility. If I am your birth doula, I will be present to help you ensure that your birthing team understands your wishes.
